Research experience

    2005 in my PhD thesis developed four levels of linguistic modelling of network forums discourse (using theories of Benvenist, Foucault and Van Dijk) and produced a prototype of online frequency glossary of Russian computer slang words with multiple macro structures

    2007 developed and  tested academic educational course  "Computer-assisted Translation"

    2008 developed and tested academic educational course "Corpus Linguistics"

    2008 introduced a scheme of formalizing translation quality assessment with the help of XML mark-up in parallel corpora

    2009 studied the issue of quantitative features of translations and translation universalia according to M.Baker in connection with English-Russian translation. Found out that the aforementioned universalia can be evidently traced within this language pair. I am a supervisor of student research workshop in this topic.

    2010 installed and implemented open source translation memory system OmegaT within translation department of Utair Aviation joint-stock company

    2011 started "Russian Learner Parallel Corpus" project, aimed to provide scholars with a corpus to study translation mistakes within "English-Russian" and "Russian-English" language pairs.
